T.S. Eliot noticed a trait in human nature that has become facilitated by the use of computers and the Internet. On one hand, the Internet will revolutionize the way we live. A plethora of information is available at our fingertips. It creates a way in which to make a relationship with another person who is miles and miles away feel as if they were right next door. There are countless positive applications of the Internet. There is also a down side. This down side, or "Dark Side of the Internet" is that we have opened up a can of worms with addiction, porn, and unsupervised children on the Net. It provides an escape from reality, which is fine, until it becomes impossible for one to come back to reality. Our site explores the Dark Side and gives some theories, applications, ways to "escape" from the Dark Side, and ways for children and families to continue clicking their way to exciting new worlds, using the Internet as the wonderful resource it is. |
