Archaeology/Geoarchaeology Concentrators

At Hamilton College there are several opportunities for student field research and always opportunities for laboratory research. Hamilton College archaeology concentrators have done field research in the Pacific Northwest and Northeast North America, western Ireland, and the Great Basin. With field work regularly contributing toward a significant part of the senior thesis project in archaeology, student usually form the basis for the thesis and collect artifacts for laboratory analysis.

We have archaeology alumni who are enrolled in or graduated from graduate programs at the University of Michigan, Washington University, Tulane University, University of New Mexico, University of Wyoming, George Washington University, Columbia University, and College of William and Mary among others. Several students have pursued careers in the private sector working for the BLM, Forest Service, and Cultural Resource Management private companies.
