 A seminar on the foundational works of the discipline: Marx, Weber, Durkheim, Simmel, Goffman, Collins, etc.  Writing-intensive, with two-page papers each week.


American Society

A lecture/discussion course team-taught by the entire Department, covering a wide range of topics in contemporary American society.


Advanced Topics in Contemporary Sociology

An invitation-only seminar on theoretically and methodologically sophisticated issues in current sociology.


Research Methods

A hands-on introduction to the range of social research methods widely used in academia and business: Surveys, Interviews, Experiments, etc.
